Volunteer Needs:
Youth Ministry Coordinator
Qualifications:
• Spiritual Gifts Needed: gift of administration/organization, Discernment and Wisdom
Duties and Expectations:

Communicate regularly with youth director and youth leadership team to give imput and help support structure of program. |
| 2. |
Help co-ordinate event details as agreed upon during planning |
| 3. |
Act as an advocate for youth and adult volunteers back to the youth director. Help us “take the pulse” of youth and their families. |

Help communications within the youth ministry |
| 5. |
Make sure volunteers feel informed with calls and postcard reminders |
| 6. |
Oversee youth representatives for church leadership (currently Ad Board, COM, readers (Jerry Gordon coordinator), and acolytes (Jo Hillard and Jean Pine coordinator). |

Help track attendance/ send appropriate “we miss you” cards (this should be mostly done in small groups) |
| 8. |
Be a resource for people inquiring about the youth ministry, especially in the youth director’s absence |

Report on youth ministry at Teaching and Discipleship meetings and represent youth concerns to other various task-force groups |

Prayer Partner Ministry Coordinator
Qualifications:

Duties:
Vision: Prayer changes lives. Each year we try to provide each youth of Braddock Street United Methodist Church an adult who will lift them up in regular prayer. This is an anonymous ministry. The youth will know someone is praying for them, just not who specifically. You will receive a letter telling the youth’s name, grade, school, address and birthday.
You are encouraged to send regular ANONYMOUS notes to your youth (suggested monthly) reminding them you are praying for them. No gifts please, just cards and letters. This is the gift of prayer. In May we will have a Sunday evening Prayer Partner Service where you will meet your youth and worship together.

Room Décor Manager

Transportation Coordinator

Youth Council Adult Rep

Duties:
• Attend Youth Council (meets 3 times a year), take minutes.
• Help vote on youth actions and calendars.
Food Coordinator
Qualifications:
Administration, Hospitality
Duties:
• Remind snack supper volunteers of their date.
• Check and report when supplies are low.
Snack Suppers Cook/Helper
Qualifications:
Hospitality; Serving/Helps
Duties:
Cook: Buys and executes meal bringing up to church (upper rec room) to be served at 6:00pm. Can either donate a meal or turn in receipts to Kristin for reimbursement. (You can also mark the receipt donation and turn into Kristin for tax purposes.)
Helper: Helps cook, lay out, serve and clean up meal.
Both Cook and Helper sets up four-six eating tables with chairs and a serving table. (one is left up all the time)
*Supplies on hand: Plates, cups, napkins, silverware, and lemonade.
Small Group Leader
Qualifications:
Sheparding; Apostle; Mercy/Compassion
Duties:
Small Group Leader is one of the biggest hands on supporters of youth with one of the deepest spiritual impacts. You will need to be available as consistantly on Sunday Blast evening as possible and any extra times you can be with the youth the more effective your impact will be. Groups should consist of 5-12 youth each Sunday. You can either follow suggestion/resources through the youth ministry OR you can plan your own youth program to meet where your group is at. This is when your gifting can shine.
The key is to minister to your group members and include everyone as Jesus would. You are responsible for making sure you have what you need to lead and reporting in to Kristin regularly (monthly) on what is going on with your group. Support meetings will happen as often as possible and access to outside training opportunities as well.
Sunday School Leader/Substitute

Duties:
Leading Sunday School is a really awesome time with the youth. Senior Highs use FUEL, a DVD bible curriculum that takes them through the Bible in 4 years going into hundreds of the stories and applying the principles to their lives. It is very easy to follow and has many options for discussion or worksheets as you’d like to use. Middle School alternates a year in Old Testament and a year in New Testament. Different games, DVDs and worksheets are used to give overviews of the Word and get the power of connecting with God into their daily lives. Some preparation is expected to study and know your lessons but freedom on how this is executed is very broad.
ALERT Staff

Duties:
Thursday of Apple Blossom BSUMC is heavily involved in the Alert Youth Rally and volunteers are needed to help set up and run the event as well as be available to counsel youth needing prayer or wanting to know more about Jesus.
Apple Blossom Chairs
Qualifications:
Administration; Serving/Helps
Duties:
• Ticket manager- keeps tickets and chart; allows people to call them to get their seats; mails/distributes the tickets
• Chair manager- orders chairs in Feb; coordinates people to set up; run and break down chairs
Turkey Dinner Manager/Auction Manager
Qualifications:
Serving/Helps; Administration; Hospitality
Duties:
• Dinner Manager: Confirm with Margie the date, food list and volunteer list. Help purchase food and deliver it to church. Run tickets and coordinate sales of the dinner itself.
• Auction Manager: Oversee letters mailed and phone calls made to solicit donations. Keep master list of what we have, who we need pick up/ follow up. Organize items with proper forms/ paperwork day of auction and help close out. (Working with auctioneer) Send thank you/ tax receipts.
Mission Team Member
Qualifications:
Sheparding; Evangelism; Mercy/Compassion
Duties:
Accompany youth and mission team to mission location serving as your gifts allow to not only accomplish the goal of the trip but lead youth in serving. Will attend meetings and participate in fund raisers leading up to trip.
Confirmation Coordinator

Duties:

Serve as a team member of the Youth Ministry Leadership team, which is charged with overseeing the overall ministry of our youth members and their spiritual formation and discipleship opportunities. |

Assist Youth Director in oversight of the confirmation process which includes the confirmation class sessions, confirmation “I decide” Retreat, special celebration brunch/lunch, and Confirmation Sunday. |

Assist in organizing, planning and implementing of the mission and service experiences of the Confirmands. |

Teach confirmation sessions that are not assigned to special guest presenters. |
| • |
Be present at the confirmation sessions to open or close the meeting with class organizational business or announcements. |

Maintain good records of attendances and Confirmands that may need make up sessions. Alert Youth Director for any follow-up needed to maintain the covenant agreements. Find ways to maintain good communications with Confirmands, mentors/sponsors and parents to help everyone stay on target |

Support our Confirmands and their families with your regular intercessory prayers. |

Submit an Annual Budget request for Confirmation program events (due in September every year for the upcoming year) |
