On Sunday July 20 we welcome Dr. John Peters, Senior Minister at Trinity United Methodist Church in Richmond. John served as Senior Minister at Braddock Street from 1988-1997.

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS take place on July 20 in the Library from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and for a few minutes after the 11 a.m. service.

PLEASE REMEMBER the Alabama Mission workers in your prayers this week.

THE VOICES OF YOUTH will present a concert in the Sanctuary on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. as part of their “2008 Shade and Fresh Water” Tour.  VOY is back in the U.S. after a tour in Brazil and will be looking for familiar faces in the audience! See you Wednesday!

NEXT WEEK our special speaker, for the finale of BSUMC’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, will be Bishop Kammerer. Following the 11 a.m. worship service, we will celebrate with a turkey dinner with all the trimmings in the Fellowship Hall ($10 per person to $25 per family). Brass ornaments of the BSUMC Sanctuary and Memoir Booklets (written by past and present ministers and members) are available for sale in the Greetorium this morning.

HISTORY MOMENT: Answer to last week’s question - Creation, Incarnation, Salvation, Regeneration and Consecration.  Do you know the dates of completion of the “old” sanctuary and the “new” sanctuary and the present education building?  Answer next week.

THE ADULT SUMMER INSTITUTE meets from 9:45 - 10:45 in the Oglesby Classroom. Today we will be studying  Women Prophets in the Corinthian Church taught by Dr. Jim Logan; July 27 - Christian Interpretations of Marriage and Slavery.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED: Wednesday, July 23 Voices of Youth will be presenting a concert in our sanctuary. We need host families for approximately 48 people. Please contact Judy Connelly (667-3366) or Barbara White if interested.

ATTENTION ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL  ATTENDEES:  If you have any suggestions for Fall Sunday School studies, please contact Dr. Sara Hudson or Patti Singhass (667-3366).

The August Steeple will be available on Sunday, August 17. This will be a special issue containing the Fall activity schedules and classes as well as a wrap of summer activities including Vacation Bible School and the Summer Mission Projects.
