Service to our local, national and international community is core
to who we are at Braddock Street.
Outreach starts with
our elementary school classes that collect funds to provide livestock
to a family overseas through Project Heifer and to support Mission
to Afghani School Children.
Our youth each summer
serve less fortunate in areas across the country. Mission trips
have included work in Appalachia as well as inner city New York
and Chicago, Atlanta, GA and Peru. This year some of our senior
high youth will travel to Africa and Thailand and the middle school
youth will join some other senior highs going to Elizabeth City,
NC to participate in home repair.
Individual classes
and church groups focus on service as an integral part of their
identity. They support programs such as Habitat for Humanity, The
Evans Home for Children, Congregational Community Action Program,
Second Chance, the Fremont Street Nursery and the Men's Rescue Mission.
The Church as a whole
has two very important missions: Children's Rescue Centre and Angel
Tree Project. Braddock Street along with several other area churches
supports Children's Rescue Centre, a child-oriented mission for
children in war-torn Sierra Leone. Each Christmas the entire church
is actively involved in the Angel Tree Project, which provides Christmas
for children of the incarcerated.
