"For
we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians
2:10
God created
you for a unique purpose; you have a role in His great adventure.
Imagine what would happen if you discovered that purpose.
Imagine the enormous impact you would have on the world. And
imagine experience the thrill of doing something that gives
you energy, joy and a sense of meaningfulness. Such attitudes
and actions would change our world.
God created
you with giftedness specifically for that purpose. The satisfaction
most people are looking for comes from being in the middle
of life's action, not on the sidelines. Nothing compares to
the satisfaction and meaningfulness of finding your purpose
and giftedness. When you do, watch out! You will begin to
change the world.
Whether you
are just beginning your journey of faith or continuing your
journey you have a role in God's great adventure. It is God's
will that you participate in the journey in meaningful significant
ways and make your unique contribution to God's grand plan
by:
Exploring
ministry opportunities that align with your passion
Experiencing God working through you to impact the
lives of others
Discovering your spiritual gifts and specific role
We want to
help you find the answers to these questions and find your
perfect fit in God's grand plan:
I
need help in knowing WHERE to serve.
I need help in knowing HOW to serve.
I want to know the different SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND THEIR DEFINITIONS
I have some QUESTIONS about Spiritual
Gifts.
I want some GUIDANCE in finding how to put those gifts to
work.
Questions:
What
is a spiritual gift?
A spiritual gift is an empowerment brought about by the presence
of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life. Paul describes it
as the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. The word "manifestation"
means the Holy Spirit reveals or makes God known to each believer.
The Holy Spirit lives within believers and empowers them to
serve others with a supernatural ability and impact far beyond
mere human effort. A spiritual gift is not a thing it is actually
the Holy Spirit working in and through a believer to accomplish
God's will. See 1 Corinthians 12:7.
Where
do spiritual gifts come from?
God gives spiritual gifts when God's Holy Spirit comes to
reside in us at the moment a person crosses the line of faith
to accept Jesus Christ. See Acts 2:38-39.
Who
has spiritual gifts?
Every believer has been empowered with the Holy Spirit to
accomplish God's will. Therefore, as a believer you have at
least one if not more spiritual gifts. See 1 Corinthians 3:16.
Why
are spiritual gifts important?
God chooses to accomplish God's work through God's people.
God empowers believers with spiritual gifts to accomplish
the work God planned and gave each of them to do. God works
through our spiritual gifts to serve others; conversely, others
serve us as God works through their gifts. As believers use
their spiritual gifts, the Body of Christ is strengthened
and the Kingdom of God is extended. See Romans 12:4, John
17:4, 1 Corinthians 12:7 and Ephesians 4:12-15.
