Volunteer Needs:
Prayer Partner Ministry Coordinator
Qualifications:
Encouragement and Faith
Duties:
Vision: Prayer changes lives. Each year we try to provide each youth of Braddock Street United Methodist Church an adult who will lift them up in regular prayer. This is an anonymous ministry. The youth will know someone is praying for them, just not who specifically. You will receive a letter telling the youth’s name, grade, school, address and birthday.
You are encouraged to send regular ANONYMOUS notes to your youth (suggested monthly) reminding them you are praying for them. No gifts please, just cards and letters. This is the gift of prayer. In May we will have a Sunday evening Prayer Partner Service where you will meet your youth and worship together.

Small Group Leader
Qualifications:
Sheparding; Apostle; Mercy/Compassion
Duties:
Small Group Leader is one of the biggest hands on supporters of youth with one of the deepest spiritual impacts. You will need to be available as consistantly on Sunday Blast evening as possible and any extra times you can be with the youth the more effective your impact will be. Groups should consist of 5-12 youth each Sunday. You can either follow suggestion/resources through the youth ministry OR you can plan your own youth program to meet where your group is at. This is when your gifting can shine.
The key is to minister to your group members and include everyone as Jesus would. You are responsible for making sure you have what you need to lead and reporting in to Kristin regularly (monthly) on what is going on with your group. Support meetings will happen as often as possible and access to outside training opportunities as well.
Sunday School Leader/Substitute
Qualifications:
Teaching; Sheparding; Apostle
Duties:
Leading Sunday School is a really awesome time with the youth. Senior Highs use FUEL, a DVD bible curriculum that takes them through the Bible in 4 years going into hundreds of the stories and applying the principles to their lives. It is very easy to follow and has many options for discussion or worksheets as you’d like to use. Middle School alternates a year in Old Testament and a year in New Testament. Different games, DVDs and worksheets are used to give overviews of the Word and get the power of connecting with God into their daily lives. Some preparation is expected to study and know your lessons but freedom on how this is executed is very broad.
Mission Team Member
Qualifications:
Sheparding; Evangelism; Mercy/Compassion
Duties:
Accompany youth and mission team to mission location serving as your gifts allow to not only accomplish the goal of the trip but lead youth in serving. Will attend meetings and participate in fund raisers leading up to trip.
